The Fine Arts Center and Gallery (FAC Gallery), located in the Miner Plaza, is the largest art gallery in Rusk County. The Gallery is staffed by volunteers, including many artists whose works are on display. Often these artists will be seen demonstrating their techniques as they staff the gallery. There are many interesting works of art for sale, and the work of visiting artists are showcased in the lounge gallery.
Stop in to browse, gather inspiration, inhale some beauty, purchase a gift, or sit and have a cup of coffee or tea while watching demonstrating artists work.

Artwork by Janelle Thompson. Janelle Thompson is a visual artist, detail oriented, interested in portraying the unique character of her subjects. Janelle designs detailed, imaginative portraits of landscapes, wildlife and structures. Janelle sees the extraordinary in the ordinary.
She is s an illustrator of picture books celebrating the wonder of young children such as “TOADS” & “LITTLE SPOUTS”. She is known for her wildlife watercolors and works our of her studio MadCat, 900 E. Sabin Ave. in Ladysmith.

Marvelous Mike’s Mini golf is a 2 acre, 24 hole mini golf course through the woods. They also serve Cedar Crest Ice Cream, hot dogs, pizza and frozen soft serve yogurt.

The Miner Theatre is a family-friendly classic movie theatre located in beautiful downtown Ladysmith, WI. It still plays first-run movies with weekend matinees.

The Rusk Area Arts Alliance (RAAA), is a group of many talented visual and performing artists, along with writers, who contribute their time and many varied talents to help make the Rusk Area a ‘welcoming’ creative community.
The community activities RAAA sponsors and co-sponsors are many & varied. Some include, The Reclaimed Flambeau Mine “Fine Art” Artist Calendar, The Rusk County Community Library Gallery, Musicale, artists at the Farmers Market, Art in the Garden tours, Music in the Park, Toadally Artsy Kids Events at Toad House, and more … we add events every year as we grow and our passions direct us.

The 2019 Rusk County Junior Fair this year is held August 8th – 11th at the Rusk County Fairgrounds. The mission of the Rusk County Junior Fair is to provide opportunities for youth who are members of a youth organization to showcase their accomplishments and talents. This allows youth to gain valuable life skills in a safe manner. The fair seeks to provide opportunities in life-long learning in agriculture, agribusiness, natural resources, family living and youth development. Anyone from Rusk County or surrounding counties can also show at the fair under Open Class. The fair is operated and managed by a fair board and would not be a success without our sponsors and volunteers. The Rusk County Rodeo is a PRCA major rodeo event featuring: bull riding, bareback, saddle bronc, tie down roping, steer wrestling, team roping & women barrel racing, with fundraising for local charities. Rodeo is happening during the Rusk County Junior Fair at the Rusk County Fairgrounds, Ladysmith.
Toad House is a project in progress – well on its way to becoming an art musemum, gallery, artisan bakery, and museum of children’s picture book art. The interior space was redesigned to accommodate a museum coffee shop area, art galleries, a commercial kitchen, and artist studio space. The third story tower offer views to the east, south, and west. As an added bonus, vistors can walk in the beautiful Enchanted Woods. It is lovely, imaginative place for children and those who recall the forests of their childhood.
